Faith and Science: A Journey into God’s Mystical Love
By Robert J. Hesse, Ph.D. with Foreword by Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D.
Dr. Hesse introduces a fresh voice into the sometimes polarizing subject of faith and science. His work offers a unique look into two subjects, which seem counter intuitive. How can these topics come together? In what ways do they meet? Does one take a backseat to the other? The book explores the asymptotic convergence, approaching but not touching, of faith and science over a broad range of disciplines including: physics to creation, chemistry to life, biology to consciousness and psychology to mysticism; all accessible in language non-scientists can understand. It culminates in research on mysticism. It is available on through Amazon and Crossroad Publishing.

Face to Face: Divine Encounters in God's Earthly Kingdom
By Robert J. Hesse, Ph.D.
FACE TO FACE: DIVINE ENCOUNTERS IN GOD’S EARTHLY KINGDOM is the second book in a planned trilogy. Upon reflection, Bob realized these stand-alone short stories inspired the content of his first internationally acclaimed book, FAITH AND SCIENCE: A JOURNEY INTO GOD’S MYSTICAL LOVE. He said: “This ultimately led me to over one hundred countries … on all seven continents. It became an important part of my discovery of God’s revelation in nature.”

This book is the second volume of his unique spiritual approach to writing memoirs. It recalls Bob’s many adventures. As one reviewer put it, “…I found myself at times smiling, sometimes laughing out loud, sometimes quizzical and other times weeping.” You cannot read this book and not be changed in some way on some level.

Bob took most of the pictures in the book. He has a keen eye for detail and recognizing the fleeting perfect pose. Combined with an innate sense of just the right moment to snap the photo, he captures incredible candid vignettes, enhancing the message in his stories.

The lion on the cover was encountered by Bob on a safari in Kenya. This impressive animal is a powerful symbol of Bob’s unconscious quest to learn about himself and his relationship to all living creatures; of his encounters with the Divine in nature and the humans who share the earth with the results of the Creator’s incredible design. The eyes of this magnificent King of the Savannah seem to reach into the heart and see into the soul. He appears to be intently studying Bob, the photographer, as this big cat calmly poses for his glorious portrait. Like most of Bob’s pictures in the book, the image grabs the reader and stays in the mind long after the book is finished.

The observations of Bob’s travel companions, particularly his loving wife, Linda, enhance the stories. They offer a different view of the people encountered, the food and drink discovered, and the places visited. Their comments add another dimension and a unique vibrancy to the narrative.

Join Bob on his adventures to places near and far, and meet the people and animals who make them real. Read the stories in the order written or read them randomly, However you engage with the messages in each, remember all represent Divine Encounters of a questioning man, who loves God deeply and has an insatiable curiosity to know his Deity, His world and the creatures who make it come alive.

Face to Face: Divine Encounters in God’s Earthly Kingdom will be available on Amazon in August.
