Faith and Science: A Journey into God’s Mystical Love
By Robert J. Hesse, Ph.D. with Foreword by Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., Ph.D.
Dr. Hesse introduces a fresh voice into the sometimes polarizing subject of faith and science. His work offers a unique look into two subjects, which seem counter intuitive. How can these topics come together? In what ways do they meet? Does one take a backseat to the other? The book explores the asymptotic convergence, approaching but not touching, of faith and science over a broad range of disciplines including: physics to creation, chemistry to life, biology to consciousness and psychology to mysticism; all accessible in language non-scientists can understand. It culminates in research on mysticism. It is available on through Amazon and Crossroad Publishing.

Face to Face: Divine Encounters in God's Earthly Kingdom
By Robert J. Hesse, Ph.D.
This is the second book of Bob’s unique, planned memoir trilogy. These stand-alone true short stories inspired the content of his first internationally acclaimed book, Faith and Science: A Journey Into God’s Mystical Love. The observations of Bob’s travel companions, particularly his loving wife, Linda, enhance the stories. They offer a different view of the people encountered, the food and drink discovered, and the places visited. Their comments add another dimension and a unique vibrancy to the narrative. The 75 true stories are each from a different country. Each starts with a relevant photo and scripture quote. The true stories explain how the scripture quote was fulfilled. The 2nd edition will be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
The Garrulous Grandma's Daybook: A Pilgrimage to Discover Acceptance, Peace, and Love Within
By Jan Masterson
Edited by Linden Price
Forward by Deacon Bob Hesse, Ph.D.
This Daybook takes the reader on a journey through the calendar year exploring eclectic earthly experiences, how they influence our thoughts and feelings, our interactions with other people, our reactions to our corner of the world and, most importantly, how we view ourselves. The Garrulous Grandma is the wise nom de plume of Jan Masterson, a woman who admits she is still searching, learning and growing as she speeds toward her ninth decade. She does her best to live in the sacred now.
The Garrulous Grandma began in 2018 as a column in a retirement community newsletter. Jan found her voice at age 72. “GG says things I would never say. She is a wise ole dame who continually surprises me with her observations and insights.”
The reflections are based on a monthly theme. Each month starts with a quote and ends with a gratitude entry and a short prayer. The daily reflections can be read in ten minutes or less. The book was written to be read one reflection at a time from January 1 to December 31.
“To journey without being changed
is to be a nomad.
To change without journeying
is to be a chameleon.
To journey and be transformed
is to be a pilgrim.”
Mark Nepo
