Carlo Romero is Contemplative Network's Vice President and Youth Leader, supporting initiatives to welcome young adults seeking the contemplative dimension of the Gospel. Through organizing Centering Prayer sits and prayers in the style of the Monastic Community of Taizé, Mr. Romero seeks to support the inner pilgrimage of young adults towards trust in God's love to face the challenges of their daily lives. Mr. Romero celebrates the universal accessibility of these contemplative prayer traditions to all present, across differences of language, denomination or culture.

Mr. Romero enjoys the interplay between kataphatic and apophatic contemplative practices. The meditative singing found in Taizé styled prayers supports one's inner's disposition to contemplation. In turn, contemplative prayer practices like Centering Prayer enrich the authenticity of words, images, symbols or ideas expressed in prayer in daily life. Mr. Romero lived for a time with the Taizé Community in France and has worked closely with the Taizé Brothers in their ecumenical ministry in the USA. Mr. Romero has attended retreats at St. Benedict's Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado.

Mr. Romero graduated from Cornell University in 1999, and he received his Juris Doctor and Masters of Science in Foreign Service joint degree from Georgetown University in 2004. As a practicing attorney, Mr. Romero has a broad experience in both public and private sectors, having worked in multinational human rights organizations, for the U.S. Government and with international businesses. Mr. Romero speaks fluently Spanish and French.

Mr. Romero has pursued a life-long interest in spirituality and health, through studying martial arts, Eastern medicinal cultures and ecological spirituality. He is a candidate for certification by Egoscue University as a Postural Alignment Specialist.
